Annamaria Gortez saw a lot of purple and gold on Monday night, and newly acquired Lakers guard Luka Donsic made her debut in Los Angeles earlier this month following wild trade from the Mavericks.
In a photo shared on Instagram, Goltez was wearing a gold t-shirt with Donsic's No. 77 in the back, as the couple's young daughter, Gabriella, kept inside Crypto.com Arena.
“New Chapter” Goltes captioned the post, adding purple and yellow heart emojis.
Goltes zoomed in on a purple and gold bow tied with another snap to Gabriella's hair.
In his first game since Christmas, Donsic recorded 14 points, five rebounds and four assists, improving the Lakers to 32-19.
“I used to be a little nervous,” said Donsic, who was injured in California. “I was nervous before the game (I don't remember), but once I stepped onto the court again, it was fun. Just being there, that was amazing.”
Lakers manager JJ Redick, who was once a teammate with Dallas Don Sic, said the five-time NBA All-Star “played really well” in his first game in LA.
“I knew Luka and whether he would admit this or not, there was probably a bit of nerves playing with the Lakers for the first time, and there was a prediction that this building had.”
“I thought he handled it really well, and he played really well tonight. …He didn't make it about Luka. He made it about playing good basketball and playing Laker basketball. It was there.”
The Lakers will then visit Jazz on Wednesday night.
For Donsic, who was at the heart of the trade that sent shockwaves through the NBA, it was a whirlwind for weeks.
Earlier on February 2nd, the Mavericks sent Don Sic, Maxi Clever and Marquief Morris to the Lakers to receive Anthony Davis, Max Christie and the 2029 first round pick.
The Jazz, the third team in the transaction, guarded two second draft picks in 2025 for the Clippers and Mavericks.
Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison was on the receivers of Juan Vitreal following the earthquake change, but highlighted the “vision and culture” he and head coach Jason Kidd have been building.
“I think it's important to know that when you turn the page. [Mavs coach Jason Kidd] And we had a vision and culture that we wanted to create because we were here,” Harrison said. All ESPN.
“I believe the players we are taking are exemplifying that. We believe the defense is winning the championship and we are bringing in one of the best two-way players in the league. ”
2019-2020 All-Star Davis, a 10-time All-Star who won the championship with the Lakers, has been out indefinitely after being injured in his Mavericks debut over the weekend.
Just like his previous team, Donsic is focusing on the path ahead after a shocking event.
“At some point I knew this was going to happen, but I'm always on a high path,” Donsic said at his introductory press conference on February 4th.
Goltes even posting a goodbye message to the city of Dallas was done on Donsic's side at every stage.
The couple announced their engagement in July 2023.
