Chris Collinsworth is a Patrick Mahomes fan and he doesn't care who knows it.
The “Sunday Night Football” broadcaster admitted essentially the same thing Interview about “Up & Adams With Kay Adams” On Fan Duel TV on Tuesday.
“To be honest, I don't care if anyone thinks I like Patrick Mahomes because I do. I like guys,” Collinsworth told Adams. “He's one of the most astounding players I've seen in the league in a long time.”
The comments came as part of the answer after Adams mentioned that some people said Collinsworth was above the top by praising Mahomes.
He acknowledged that Mahomes deserves part of the responsibility for the Chiefs' biased loss to the Eagles, 40-22.
“A few. So obviously a few,” Collinsworth said. “He missed some throws. That's what he did for the Pick Six. He didn't have any good first half, he just didn't. Not only had to be good, he had to be great, and perhaps he could not even be great enough to win this game.”
Mahomes finished his loss on Sunday, finishing with 21 completions on 32 passing attempts for 257 yards and three touchdown passes, and also threw two intercepts.
The Chiefs QB was fired six times for a 31-yard loss.
Collinsworth is well aware of his discourse on perceived mahomerism, by his side. I'm even enjoying myself Previously aired on NBC.
During the December 2023 broadcast, partner Mike Tirico tried to ask him about something other than Mahomes, whom Collinsworth joked about.
“It's exciting to see someone who isn't going to mention Patrick Mahomes. I'm reading my Twitter,” Collinsworth said.
