Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Kerr announced Wednesday that he had requested the agency to investigate Comcast and its subsidiary, NBCuniversal, on his diversity, equity and inclusion practices.
Carr wrote in a post At X, he notified Comcast CEO Brian Roberts about the pending probe.
“There is great evidence that your company is still involved in DEI promotions.”
“I'm worried that his company is promoting a mysterious form of DEI that is not compliant with FCC regulations and civil rights laws,” Kerr said.
He said the DEI initiative will push “forms of discrimination” “which have long been condemned by American civil rights law.”
“As the Supreme Court wrote, classifications drawn by extreme DEI policies denounce individuals for group identity, and by their definition, institutions were established based on commitment to equality. It's lewd to people who are not interested,” Carr added.
He praised President Donald Trump for “taking swift and decisive action to eradicate Day's tragedy.”
Carr said Trump's enforcement actions have ended DEI practices within the FCC, and the agency is now dedicated to ensuring that all companies regulate it comply with civil rights laws .
Kerr shared his three pages letter I explained to Roberts why the FCC is beginning to make efforts to eliminate DEIs on Comcast and NBCuniversal.
“First of all… there's great evidence that your company is still engaged in DEI promotions. Secondly, your company is regulated by the FCC, from cables to high-speed internet, broadcast television stations to MVNO wireless products. It covers a variety of sectors,” Carr wrote.
A Comcast spokesman said ABC News“We are under investigation by the Federal Communications Commission and will work with the FCC to answer questions. For decades, we have been working on the foundation of integrity and respect for all our employees and customers. It's been built.”
Last week, Carr announced that the FCC has begun investigating a radio station in San Francisco. This allegedly exposed the “live location” of a secret federal immigration agent. The local station is owned by Audicy and has been bailed out from more than $400 million in debt by left-wing billionaire George Soros, making it a considerable stakeholder for the second-largest radio company.
