On Friday, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an Elon Musk-led group tasked with eliminating wasteful spending, said it had discovered a misguided $1.9 billion by the Biden administration.
The funds came from the Housing and Urban Development Authority (HUD) and were collected.
“Due to a broken process, $1.9 billion in HUD money was collected after being left behind during the Biden administration. These funds were allocated for the management of financial services, but no longer needed. did,” X's Doge Post.
HUD Secretary Scott Turner worked with Doge to “fix the issue” and “remove funds that the Treasury has made available for other uses.”
On Thursday, Turner announced the creation of the Doge Task Force within his agency.

Turner said his team identified $260 million in savings just two days ago. Doge has identified billions of dollars in suspicious spending.

With the help of Doge, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator Lee Zeldin said that the $50 million environmental justice grant from the Biden era to an organization that believes “Climate Justice will go through free Palestine.” said it had cancelled.
The EPA also sent $160 million to Canadian electric bus makers under the Biden administration, Zeldin appeared in Thursday's “A Story with Martha McCallum.”
He pointed out that the Biden administration sent the full amount to the makers rather than paying for school buses when they were in production.
He added that since receiving the money, the company has declared bankruptcy.
