Her 40s woman was shot dead at a pub in Knockholt, Kent, police said.
In a statement, Kent police said officers were called to report interference at three Horseshoes pubs in a village near Seven Oaks around 7pm on Friday.
“Officers were present at the scene with a South East Coast ambulance where a woman in her 40s suffered an injury that coincided with a gunshot wound.
“She has been declared dead at the scene and a murder investigation is underway.”
They added: “As part of the inquiry, officers were present at the Dartford intersection where the vehicle linked to the incident was recovered, along with the firearm.”
They said inquiries are ongoing to identify and find all potentially involved people. The woman's close relatives were informed.
Knockholt's Parish Councillor Steve Maines told the BBC: Someone was told he was shot and had to leave. ”
A message posted on Three Horseshoes' Facebook page said the pub remains closed on Saturday after a “tragic incident.”
