Draven Bennington, the 22-year-old son of Chester Benington, the lead vocalist of Late Linkin Park, has appeared as a transgender person.
“Happy Valentine's Day” Draven Bennington began announcing the transition, starting with an Instagram post on Friday. “I think it's the perfect time to show love to myself, as today is a day to celebrate love and truly mean love, whether it's for our partners, family, or ourselves. It was there.”
“For a long time I tried to be someone, someone I wasn't really inside,” continued the son of the Linkin Park frontman. “Ignoring that worked for a while, but continuing to come to the intersection of being happy and contented was something I couldn't keep crossing.”
Draven then revealed that since August he has been undergoing a sexual transition, including hormone replacement therapy.
“Last August, I decided to go on a path of happiness and be true to myself. I came out as a transgender person and started hormone replacement therapy, which I have never seen before in my life. It was the best decision I made to go to,” Draven said.
“I have to say I am very blessed to be able to do this and I also have very supportive family and friends,” Bennington's son continued. “I love each and every one of you who showed me nothing but love and respect and who I truly are.”
Afterwards, Doraven turned to his mother, Samantha Oritt. Samantha Oritt welcomed Chester Bennington and her son in 2002.
“Mom, especially you loved me unconditionally. I'm so blessed to be your child! I love you so much!” said Doraven. “All the support and love I received has created the power to love myself. This is why I choose not to hide who I am.”
Bennington's son concluded his message by saying, “Love is love” before repeating “Happy Valentine's Day.”
Meanwhile, Draven has changed his Instagram bio to show the pronoun of “her.”
“I'm so proud of you,” Doraven's mother wrote in the comments section of his post, “I love you with all my heart and soul. You're my favorite on Earth I'm just want you to be happy and healthy forever.”
Chester Bennington, who committed suicide by hanging in July 2017, left behind a total of six children.
Although Doraven is the only child with his first wife, Samantha, the late Locker has 18-year-old son Tyler and 13-year-old twin daughters, Lily and Lila also have his second wife, former Playboy We share the model Talinda Bentley.
Chester Bennington also gave birth to her 28-year-old son Jamie along with her ex-girlfriend Elka Brando, and recruited Brando's 27-year-old son, Isaiah, from another relationship.
Draven is the latest child of celebrities who have been drawn into the ever-growing transgender and gender identity trends among young people in recent years.
Last year, Seraphina Rose, the 15-year-old daughter of actress Jennifer Garner and actor Ben Affleck, got a buzzcut hairstyle and changed her name to Finn.
In 2022, Affleck married singer Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer Lopez has 16-year-old daughter Emme Maribel Muniz, who uses gender-neutral pronouns. That same year, actress Sigourney Weaver revealed that Charlotte, a child she shares with her husband Jim Simpson, is gender-non-binary.
In 2021, the son of actress Jamie Lee Curtis came out as a transgender person and changed his name to Ruby. The actress said a guest of her and her husband's screenwriter Christopher “we see wonder and pride when our son becomes our daughter, Ruby.”
In the same year, Whitney, the adopted daughter of rapper Eminem, came out as a non-binary, telling Tiktok's followers that she had changed her name to Stevie, and now she's gone “all pronouns.”
In 2020, former NBA star Dwyane Wade announced that his 12-year-old son, Sion, is transgender and is now a daughter named Zaya.
