Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Company, LLC has issued a recall of the product for “undeclared almonds” found in milk chocolate-covered macadamia nut products sold in a 1-ounce pouch.
The Keau, Hawaii-based company announced it on February 15th, 2025.
The company voluntarily recalls one batch of macadamia nut pouches “because there are undeclared almonds that are allergens.”

The announcement was published on the US Food and Drug Administration website.
“Consumers who are allergic to almonds” and the FDA notice also states that “consuming this product risks a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction.”

So far, “no illness or side effects have been reported in connection with this issue,” the notification said.
A voluntarily recalled macadamia sweet snack (1 oz) pouch covered in mauna loa milk chocolate was distributed among two different ones Retailers In Southern California, the company said.

The batch was created by a third-party co-manufacturer.

“Immediate steps have been taken to contain affected products, notify third-party co-manufacturers, alert consumers and distributors, and report the issue to the FDA,” the company said. .

In its notice, the company said, “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and continue to be committed to ensuring the highest standard of safety and quality of our products.”
