Plane catches fire at air show in Texas, 1 person injured: reports

One person was injured when a plane flares at an airshow held in Laredo, Texas on Sunday.

The incident occurred at Laredo International Airport before 1pm. At Laredo International Airport, aircraft were participating in the WBCA Stars & Stripes Air Show.

According to KGN, only one plane was involved. The plane's engines were set in the air, but the pilot landed the plane and the fire was put on the ground once.

The pilot, a man from the 70s, was taken to Laredo Medical Center in critical condition after the incident. He was then transferred to San Antonio for observation.

“The plane had mechanical problems in the air and had to make an emergency landing,” Laredo Fire Station spokesman Hernan Martinez told the Laredo Morning Times. “The pilot is suffering from injuries, facials and heads, and he is planning to jump out to San Antonio in the air. We are waiting for all the units to protect the pilot, and he is hospitalized for further evaluation. You will be taken to.

There were no other people in the aircraft.

Laredo police said Jacaman Road and Barrett Avenue near the airport were closed after a fire broke out on the airport grounds. Police announced shortly after that air shows have resumed and travel lanes have reopened.

The Federal Aviation Administration is leading the investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board is also under investigation.

This comes one day after at least two people died when a small plane crashed shortly after taking off from a Georgia airport.
