Giancarlo Stanton’s Yankees return a mystery after ominous injury comments

Tampa – Giancarlo Stanton hasn't waved bats in 3-4 weeks, but still can't be seen when he does so again.

The Yankees' slugger hitters arrived at camp, the equivalent of tennis elbows on both sides. He said he played for last season (including the Monster Postseason) before rekindling in the offseason.

The club wants to give him time to recover now, so Stanton doesn't have to miss out on time once the season begins, but it's doubtful if he's ready for the first day.

“We see what happens,” Stanton said Monday. I was asked if it would be good to play against the brewer on March 27th.

DH, 35, described his tennis elbow as a presentation of tears in tendons and a certain level of pain.

What about whether the injury will ultimately require surgery?

“If you blow it up, it's going to overdo it,” Stanton said. “But obviously it's not what you want. If something is destroyed, it'll be the same. But that's not a concern.”

The Yankees can lose Stanton for a long time. They already have to deal with Juan Soto's loss, and they have acquired Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt over the offseason to make up for that absence, but Stanton is halfway through the lineup when he's healthy Provides important presence.

As the Yankees held their first full-squad training at Stein Brenner Field on Monday, Stanton planned to continue treatment, including forearm work, tissue work and other exercises.

“It definitely isn't just pain,” Stanton said. “It was easy to manage [last year]. That was last year and the way this year went on.

“That's not the case, 'When did you feel good, when did you feel bad?' There's always a level of pain there. You had to deal with it. It's a wise point to give time now. ”

Stanton hit seven home runs in 14 games during Red Hot playoff runs to help the Yankees reach the World Series, but he had overcome the pain in October, but thought he wasn't there. He said he couldn't.

“This is time I'll have as much time as possible before. The idea is not to take downtime. [during the season]Stanton said. “This is the smartest time in the short offseason window where you can do that.”
