The nameless man told FBI agents who saw the couple in Moab on August 12, 2021 that they were driving their family on a trip from Denver, Colorado to Las Vegas, Nevada. He thought he had passed the white Ford Transit van and saw a woman slap her. He was so worried that he pulled a U-turn and parked across the street to look at things.
The man in the van “behaved like a “madman”” sporadically opened, knocked on the door, and roamed the van.
