Four New York City mayors plan to step down from Mayor Eric Adams' administration over cooperation with President Trump on immigration.
First Deputy Mayor Maria Torres Springer and Deputy Mayors Anne Williams Isom and Meera Joshi confirmed their departure in a statement to the hill.
“We have come to the difficult decision to step down from our role in order to remain true to the extraordinary events of the past few weeks and the pledges we have pledged to New Yorkers and our families.” officials said.

In a statement to the hill, Adams said he was “disappointed” to see officials leaving their posts, but he understands their decision “in light of current challenges.”
“Let me be transparent. New York City continues to move forward just as it does every day. All vice mayors will remain in their role as it is to ensure a seamless transition for the time being. The people of New York City are undoubtedly our number one priority,” Adams said. “I'm only seen by the 8.3 million New Yorkers I represent. I always put this city first – as I always do.”
This development comes after federal prosecutors were ordered by Supreme Justice Department (DOJ) officials to dismiss corruption charges against Adams, whom he had become close to Trump in recent months.
