On hole 13 during a TGL match against New York Golf Club, Tiger Woods thought there was 99 yards left in the flag.
He decided to use a 56-degree sand wedge, a club suitable for 100 yards of shots. Woods then left thinking he had hit a solid approach. This is rare during this match since his team faced a 7-point deficit. Woods was struggling and needed some sort of bounce to lift the team.
However, his sand wedges went below about 100 yards of pins. To find out, Woods had the rest of 199 yards for his second shot, not 99 years old.
“What is he doing?” Kissner can ask I'm talking about ESPN broadcasts.
“Does he have a wedge?!”
“You said 99 yards!?” cried Mori.
“I heard you say 99, not 199.”
Kim and Kissner couldn't help but laugh hysterically as Woods' gaffe became the moment of the match. Woods even called it the “most embarrassing” moment of his life on the golf course.
“I can't believe it happened,” Woods told the media.
The results have already been decided, with New York Golf Club ultimately winning 10-3, but at least Jupiter Link Golf offered entertainment once again.
In another loss, the first match, Kissner hit a shank from the greenside bunker and rifle from the flagstick, creating a huge smacking noise. The world of golf has never seen Woods laugh harder as Kissner's Shank became the funniest moment of the TGL season.
