Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. – Tiger Woods had 199 yards in the hole.
His Jupiter Link teammate realized he was too late to be horribly wrong in a TGL indoor game on Tuesday night.
Woods asks to check the yard and hears 99 – the caddie often drops the first number when it's obvious.
But that was clearly not clear to Woods.
He hit a wedge, a completely good shot that traveled 100 yards.
“I heard 99 yards, so I went out and hit,” the 15-time major champion said after losing the 13th hole against New York Golf Club's Cameron Young.
“One of the most embarrassing moments of my golf career just happened,” Woods told ESPN TV broadcast, laughing amongst mistrust. “I just ruined it. That was embarrassing.”
His Jupiter linked his teammates Kevin Kissner and Tom Kim and fell to the floor with a laugh.
New York never chased with a 10-3 victory.
