Super Bowl champ Mike Collier dead at 71

The former Pittsburgh Steelers, whose return of Mike Collier, passed away on Sunday in Maryland. According to an online obituary.

Collier was 71 years old, who won Super Bowl X with the Steelers in 1975. The cause of death was not announced.

“There was one of the best preparers in Chuck Noll's game,” Collier said in 2014. He couldn't get enough credit. ”

In the fourth quarter, when the Steelers followed 10-9, Collier returned a 25-yard free kick to set Pittsburgh on Dallas territory.

The Steelers kicked Go-Ahead's field goal on a drive that continued on their way to a championship victory.

Collier spent three seasons in the NFL as injuries shortened his career. He played for bills in 1977 and 1979 before retiring from professional football.

After his performance day he became manager of Martin's grocery store in Hagerstown, Maryland, after failing to find an education job in Baltimore.

Collier is a popular figure, signed the autograph and tried out the Super Bowl ring with fans. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watched football, his obituary read.

He also helps raise funds for local charities.

“I'm trying to do everything I can to help people. You know, I can play in the NFL and win the Super Bowl and help people that that's what it's about. I was blessed.” He just told DC News.

Collier was survived by his wife Leah, three children and six grandchildren.
