Corrections officials have concluded all external visits to the New York State prison in the wake of prison guard attacks and sporadic inmate unrest as a riot erupted in another northern prison early Thursday morning.
The latest uprising by uncontrolled prisoners struck Riverview Correctional Facility, located near the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Ogdensburg.
No staff were injured during the chaos. WWNE 7 News He said it happened on Wednesday overnight on Thursday.

However, riot prisoners drove security guards out of their dorms, so state officials sent correction emergency response teams to quell the complaints. The Times Union reported.
Two inmates reportedly were injured during the trouble, but authorities have regained control of the facility.
The latest riot comes about a week after the Collins Correctional Facility in Erie County was locked up after the prisoner uprising.
And that's in an informal, long-term strike by correctional officers at facilities throughout the state.
