Senate confirms Kash Patel to head the FBI

Despite a constant Democrat-led smear campaign, the Senate narrowly confirmed on Thursday that Kash Patel will serve as FBI director. Patel has now been confirmed to be the 18th member of President Donald Trump's cabinet.

Patel was confirmed with 51-49 votes, with 51 Republicans supporting the candidate and 47 Democrats voted for him. In particular, Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell voted in favor of confirming Patel.

At the same time, Patel also faced a pushback from a Republican senator, with Alaska's Lisa Markowski voting to get the candidates to compete.
