The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) said Thursday that one of the four hostage bodies handed over by Hamas as part of the ceasefire contract was not actually the righteous person.
Hamas was to deliver the oded Lifshitz, 84 bodies. With her 33-year-old mother, Sirivivas and her two children, Ariel, 5, and Kfir, 2.

The IDF said they actively identified Ariel and Kfir Bibas, but Shiri Bibas was not inside the corpses.
In a statement, the IDF said:
After completing the identification process by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in collaboration with the Israeli police, IDF representatives informed the Vivas family that their loved ones, Ariel and Kfir Vivas, had been identified.
Based on forensic findings from the intelligence and identification process available to us, according to the evaluation of professional officials, Ariel and Kfir Vivas were brutally murdered in November 2023 by prisoner-of-war terrorists.
During the identification process, it was determined that the additional bodies received were not of Silivivab and were not matched by other hostages. This is an anonymous, unidentified body.
This is the greatest breach of severity by the Hamasterolist organization and is mandatory under a contract to return the hostages of four deceased. We request that Hamas bring Siri back home with all the hostages.
Ariel Vivas was four years old at the time of his death, and Kufia Vivas was ten months at the time of his death. They were accused of their mother, Shiri Bibas, from Nir Oz's home. Yaden Bibas, Ariel and Kufia's father, went out to protect them, and was accused before the abduction of Ciri and his children. Yalden returned on February 1, 2025 as part of the hostage return contract.
We have expanded our sincere condolences into the Vivas family during this incredibly difficult time and continue to commit to doing everything possible so that Siri and all hostages can be brought home at the earliest opportunity. It's there.
It is not clear whether Siri Vivas is still alive or whether her body simply has been lost. And what Israel will do in response to Hamas' violations remains unclear, which will infuriate Israelis who are mourning this week.
