NJ pet-shop owner shot with crossbow says attacker meant to kill her

The owner of a pet store in New Jersey says he shot him in the face with a crossbow. The attacker says he didn't say “single words” before firing in bliss.

Rukavishnikova was working Monday evening when the attackers launched a shocking attack, authorities said.

Rukavishnikova told the outlet that Triggerman, identified as Raymond M. Carey of nearby Hasbrouck Heights, was a regular at the shop.

“He's very quiet, he's modest and he's coming and getting him. [pet] Food and leaves,” she told the outlet.

However, on Monday, Carrie began muttering as she walked to the store with a small crossbow and walked backwards.

“I walked over to him and said, 'I'm sorry, I didn't hear what you said.' And he pointed at the crossbow and shot me.

“His intention was probably to kill me,” Rukavishnikova said.

Security cameras from nearby businesses reported that Rukavishnikova and Carey ran through the store after bravely tackling a crossbow from his hands.

“I don't know if it was clogged or if he was about to reload it. Then I jumped in and took a crossbow, pulled an arrow out of my mouth, and cried out for help,” she said. Ta.

The store owner told the outlet he escaped with a broken upper and lower teeth.

Rukavishnikova returned to work the next day, but she says she is still always afraid. The fear is enough for her to consider closing with co-owner Joe Riley.

Carrie fled after the attack, but local and federal authorities defeated him in a small Jersey Shoretown near the Toms River around 1pm the following day, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.

He is incarcerated, among other things, in the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, with whom he has been charged with attempted murder, among other things.

Rukavishnikova has had a lot of luck over the past few months. In late January, a brave thief swiped a $7,000 parrot during a wild daytime shipment.

The suspect – 24-year-old Onyx Calderon of Patterson – waltzed her shop and asked her to see the expensive birds and expensive African grey parrots before fleeing.

Officers eventually retrieved the birds at Paterson's home last month, Lukavishnikova told the Post last month.
