Pennsylvania police officer killed in hospital shooting; gunman dead

Officials say police officers and gunmen were killed at Pennsylvania Hospital in York County on Saturday morning.

The incident took place at UPMC Memorial Hospital around 10:45am.

Ted Czech, a spokesman for the York County Emergency Management Department, told Fox News Digital that his department responded to a 911 call about a “active threat” at the hospital.

The gunman's identity has not been released, but the deceased officer – Andrew Duarte was identified in a post on the West York Borough's Facebook page.

“Our prayer and deep pathos are the family of West York Borough Police Officer, Andrew Duarte, and brothers and sisters of West York Borough Police Station, who have lost comrades and friends, and even our companions. We head out to the borough of fellow boroughs who lost the borough of our fellow boroughs. The co-worker reads the post. “Our community lament the loss of our heroes.”
