Court records show that he was arrested 20 times in two years, and the man called NYC's “worst drug dealer” was arrested again this month.
Brandon Hunter was arrested on February 5th after being captured for crack cocaine, heroin, club drug MDMA or ecstasy.
Police sources say the 20-year-old hunter was picked up to handle drugs at the same midtown spot where he was captured at least twice before.
According to court records and officials, the hunter who ran from the police in an attempt to arrest him was released almost immediately after he was not eligible for bail for his crime.
According to the criminal charges, officers discovered a hunter at the corner of West 37th Avenue and 8th Avenue, and told others, “Reaching out into the pocket of his right jacket and handing over a small object.” I saw “stretching.”
As soon as officers tried to get out of the car, Hunter drove off, authorities said in a complaint.
“Then I observe the Hunter stop, throw the backpack I wore in the middle of the street, and run west at West 38th Avenue,” the officer wrote in the complaint.
Two other officers catch up with the Hunter and detain him, saying “we had to carry out a forced takedown,” according to the complaint.
When officers searched him, they allegedly recovered “a plastic twisted bag containing 37 suspected crack/cocaine vials and $20 in US currency” and four packs of heroin.
In the backpack, officers discovered a plastic twist bag containing crack/cocaine rocks. This found another plastic twisted bag that was suspected of MDMA and continued with 103 tablets and $274 in cash.
According to court documents, prosecutors sought bail for his arrest, but Judge Irona Coleman released him on non-financial terms.
Coleman, who has been on the bench since January 1st, was previously the attorney general for the left-wing legal advocacy group, Bronx Defender.
Records show that this month's arrest was the third mark that Hunter was covered in the same area. Hunter could be sent to prison after appearing in court for one of the other cases, officials said.
However, Hunter has been to prison before.
He was sentenced for nine months on Riker's Island after May 4, 2023, and was arrested in the same corner after officers found a 51 vial crack and a $59 vial in his pants pocket. .
He pleaded guilty to an attempted drug possession with intent to sell on February 7, and was attacked for nine months on Rikers Island, which covered other open cases, officials said.
He went out to the back of the bar on July 25th just five months later. And three weeks later, he was arrested again on August 9th, the record shows.
This time, infamous and generous judge Valentina Morales – who released Venezuelan immigrants without bail after being told he had stabbed a tourist at Times Square last year – freeing him.
“I'm worried about the new allegations given that he's just been released,” Morales said according to the court's transcript.
She then released Hunter without bail.
“Because the shame of the judicial system lies here – a rotating door,” police sources said. “God knows how hurt he is and he sells it in the same place over and over again.”
