President Trump's special advisor, Elon Musk, warned on Saturday about a new policy requiring federal employees to e-mail details of their work efforts to keep them up.
“In line with @realldonaldtrump's instructions, all federal employees will receive an email promptly requesting a request to understand what they did last week,” Musk wrote. Saturday afternoon post.
“A failure to respond will be considered a resignation,” he added.
The tech giant did not outline any additional details on the public platform, but Hill reviewed a copy of the message sent to federal employees.
“Please reply to this email in CC with about five points and managers of what we achieved last week. Please do not send any sorted information, links or attachments,” the email read.
“The deadline is Monday at 11:59pm.”
The mask post comes as many executive orders are changing the federal government landscape.
Congress members claim that recent internal orders limit employees from talking to lawmakers and outlining details of internal probes for government efficiency.
Among President Trump's recent enforcement actions is to remove thousands of probationers from federal agencies and ban diversity, equity and inclusive efforts at all levels.
The U.S. Government Employee Federation responded to an email sent to federal employees in a statement expressing their dissatisfaction.
“Again, Elon Musk and the Trump administration have shown their total disdain for federal employees and the important services they provide to the American people. It's one hour run once Hundreds of thousands of veterans wearing second uniforms in civil servants to be forced to justify duties against privileged and unelected billionaires with this touch that have never been done “For cruel and rude to his life, public service is honest with his public service,” the group wrote.
“AFGE challenges illegal termination of members and federal employees across the country.”
