A shooting at a US Air Force Base in New Mexico killed one aviator early Saturday and another injured, military officials said it was not a terrorist act or an attack by an outsider. He added.
A statement from Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque said security forces responded to a shooting near one of the entrance to the base around 2am.
One aviator died at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital wounded by a bullet, where he was later discharged, the statement said.
The afternoon update said filming was followed by an “off-base tracking.”
He said there was no threat to the public.
The Air Force has released few other details and did not immediately say whether anyone was in custody.
The spokesman refused to say whether the shooter or archer was also an airplane.
The names of the airmen who were shot were not released immediately.

The Air Force Office of the Special Investigation was leading the investigation.
Police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said FBI agents were also at the scene where they were rescued by Albuquerque police.
Police were not looking for suspects, he added.
