The late Johnny Gordlow's young son was serenaded by the Columbus crowd on Saturday in a sweet rendition of “Happy Birthday” when Johnny Jr. celebrated his first birthday.
During the Blue Jacket's dominant 5-1 home victory over the Chicago Blackhawks, attendees are informed that it was Johnny Jr.'s first birthday and celebrated the special day by singing “Happy Birthday.” I was asked to do so.
The birthday boy gets to Jumbotron while surrounded by his loved ones, including Mama Meredith Gaudrow, who thanked the Blue Jacket on an Instagram story for making Johnny Jr.'s Day “very special.” It has appeared.
“I know Baby Johnny's dad is grateful for this and a big win,” she posted on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Meredith – he is the mother of two-year-old daughter Noah and expects her third baby along with Gaudrow – I wrote a sincere message to her son On Instagram, he calls him “Mama's Rock.”
“Happy 1st birthday to our boys! We love you so much Johnny! Already so strong and very special. 2/22,” Meredith began.
“I can't believe you gave me a boy,” John said again and again when John arrived. I couldn't stop staring at how happy John was. It's one of the best moments of my life. All of your dad's achievements are not comparable to the pride and joy that he has had in being your father.
“Can't wait to give you a little brother soon! All the baby Johnny for you. We love you so much!”
Meredith concluded her post by thanking Gaudreau to their family, saying, “I gave me a boy.”
“It's been a crazy first year, but I'm celebrating today,” she said.
The Gordlows endured an unimaginable tragedy in August when the front of the Blue Jacket and his younger brother Matthew Gordlow were struck and killed by suspicion of a drunk driver on the eve of his sister's wedding.
Gaudreau and Matthew were riding their bikes in the evening on the Salem County Road in rural New Jersey where Shawn Higgins allegedly attacked them.
Gaudreau was 31 and Matthew was 29.
The left winger spent the first nine years of his NHL career with the Calgary Flames, picking him 104th overall in the 2011 draft.
Gaudreau joined the Blue Jackets in 2022 after agreeing to a seven-year, $68.25 million contract with free agency.
Team USA celebrated Gaudreau's memory this month at a highly acclaimed face-off tournament in four highly regarded countries, spanning Montreal and Boston. The jersey for a slow advance was hung on a food stall reserved for him.
The tournament ended Thursday, with the US falling to rival Canada in the overtime thriller 3-2.
The Blue Jacket is currently fourth in the Metropolitan category, 27-22-8.
