South Dakota lawmakers effectively kill proposed Bitcoin bill – Cointelegraph

Lawmakers in the South Dakota Legislature have postponed a vote that may have allowed the US state to invest in Bitcoin.

The proposed bill would modify the state's public funding classification in South Dakota to include up to 10% in BTC investments. State Senator Logan Manhart introduced the bill on January 30th; I said With X, he was planning to reintroduce the law in 2026.
