Exclusive: Speaker Johnson says Congress has ‘no appetite’ for future Ukraine funding

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) Blaze in an exclusive interview on Monday that Ukraine's funding will be out of the table in the future as President Donald Trump continues peace talks this week. -Talking to the news.

Johnson told Blaze News that Trump is in charge of negotiations and he has “no appetite” for future additional Ukrainian funds, noting that the president is the “change agent” needed to end the conflict. .

“They need to resolve this, and that's one of the pressure points they think is important for them to recognize, and that's what President Trump is telling.

“We're taking a completely different attitude right now,” Johnson told Blaze News. “Everyone wants to bring it to this war, this conflict. We desperately need peace to recover there. It's not only in Europe and the West, but also in the US. It's also good for you.”

“The investment made so far has been to allow Ukraine to fall into position. Ultimately, where they are now, they are in a position to bring peace,” Johnson said. I added. “But what President Trump is doing is that he is the change agent he needs to do this and we knew that. Last year we campaigned about it.”

To Johnson's point, Trump was nothing more than a “change agent.” Last week, the president made a poignant comment about Ukrainian President Voldymi Zelenkie, calling him a “dictator” and criticising American tax abuse overseas.

But now with Trump returning to the White House, Congress is no longer keen on raising the banks of Zelenkey's efforts.

“President Trump is that transformative person.”

“Congress has no appetite,” Johnson told Blaze News. “We made it clear to them. They need to resolve this. That's one of the pressure points they think is important for them to recognize, and that's what President Trump is saying. I think it's something that's there.”

“You must bring about change in leadership. To restore peace through strength, our enemies respect and fear in some respects, and our allies trust and believe in us. Because we have to make the US chief a strong commander who respects people and fear. So, Johnson told Blaze News, “President Trump is that transformational figure.”

Trump is leading the peace talks with Russia, and is heavily at Zelensky's frustration. When Trump first met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and eliminated Zelensky, the Ukrainian president argued that he would be hit by the government and that he must reach a future peace deal.

“I think it's like arbitration,” Johnson told Blaze News. “I used to be a lawyer, but we do them. When there is an arbitration you are trying to get two parties to resolve something, the first meeting never goes in the same room as them. There is no. You meet with them individually and separately, and you will unite the party to confirm it.”

“I think President Trump is in that process and everyone needs to make that happen,” Johnson added.
