Sen. Cramer reveals fall that caused seizure, brain bleed

A Republican senator had a seizure and a brain bleeding after sliding down on the ice in North Dakota over the weekend.

Sen. Kevin Cramer said Rn.D. has been recovering from rest at his state home after the incident.

“While walking up the hill to the dock, I walked on the ice, fell sharply and hit the back of my head,” he wrote on Facebook.

The senators don't remember the incident, he said.

He was diagnosed with a seizure, a brain hemorrhage and a concussion, and “the wound on my head didn't ooze, so the doctor punched some staples into the tear and admitted me.”

Cramer explained the next day “a pretty bad headache” but said he had improved brain bleeding.

“Doctors prefer to take a little more rest before returning to DC, so we don't know exactly when that will happen. It's a daily basis this week, but if the event requires it, we're ready to go back soon.” he wrote.

The Senator's post included photos of bloody snow and his head painted with wounds.

Cramer is 64 years old.

The North Dakota Republican was first elected to the Senate in 2018 and re-elected in 2024. Before that, he served in the House of Representatives.
