JJ Watt has not stepped back from the bet he made with Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, even if NFL legends have to get out of retirement.
Trafford and Watt made a bet If the keeper did not give up on goals for the remaining EFL Championship season in December, the previous defensive end would be coming out of retirement to play for the Bengals.
Watt is part of Burnley's owner, who plays in the UK's second tier of the football pyramid. And since the first exchange, Trafford has held a clean sheet in 13 consecutive matches.
The former NFL defensive side and three-time defensive player of the year enjoy their social media stakes and appearances on the “Dampatrick Show.”
“I'll do it,” Watt told Patrick. “If he's doing it and it's insane, there's a 12 or 13 game left. If he does it, it's sane enough and respectful enough. I'll go out there and follow. Who knows if they want me? I'm not talking to them, but I'm in shape and I'm going to play. ”
Although there's still time for Watt to win the bet, he told Patrick that it helped create a new fan for the Cincinnati soccer team.
There are still 13 games left on Burnley's schedule.
Burnley is 18-13-2, third in the league, giving him the opportunity to advance to the Premier League.
Watt is starting to get a little nervous, but he hasn't fully thought about how to pull away the end of the bargain.
And it never submitted a resignation letter.
“Technically, I think I'm a free agent,” he said.
There is also the question of whether Bengal wants to add watts to their roster.
Trafford and Burnley defender CJ Egan-Riley are both Bengals fans, but Watt doesn't know why.
“We're going to reach out to the Bengals here,” Watt said. “We have to get the gear for these guys at least. (Joe) Reach out to Barrow and see if he signs the jersey. They're actually big fans, so that's what I don't understand.”
