Denver Broncos coach arrested after allegedly punching cop

Linebacker coach Michael Will Hoyt outside the Denver Broncos has been accused of fleeing the scene by punching his face while drop-offline at the airport.

Wilhoyt, a six-year NFL veteran and current coach, faces felony assault charges and $5,000 bonds after allegedly punching a police officer in the face at Denver International Airport on Sunday, court records show.

Police alleges that the 38-year-old was pulled up to the airport's arrival drop-off lane on Sunday afternoon and left the 2021 Ford Bronco, Denver Post. I wrote it.

When Willhoyt returns to his car, a uniformed officer will come up to the coach and tell him he cannot leave an unsupervised car. The coach then told officers “closed the f*** up,” and twice he told law enforcement he “smacked his chest.” The court affidavit says officers pushed Wilhoyt back, which dropped him to the ground before Willhoyt punched the officer in his face.

Officers quickly fired his Taser, multiple reports allegedly claimed that it allegedly attacked Wilhoyt on his hips and sides. Despite being shocked for a few seconds, the coach still managed to get into his car and drive.

Wilhoyt was later arrested and appeared in Denver County Courthouse Monday morning in front of Magistrate Ernie Beckman.

“These are routine and routine interactions where thousands of people successfully pass through at the airport without attacking police officers,” Beckman argued. “The everyday encounters that meant becoming violent.

Wilhoyt's lawyer declined to comment on the Denver Post. Associated Press He also left a message to his legal team but did not receive a response.

The officer is said to have had “visible” knee injuries and jaw pain, along with the possibility of an internal illness in his left wrist. TMZ.

Topeka, Kansas, played for the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, with last season coming in 2017. Wilhoyt's contract expired in March 2018. He was not asked to resign and despite another tryout, he didn't play again in the NFL after a total of 79 games in the league.
