The gunman was captured on security video and filmed the insurance company's CEO's home in Oregon.
The Lake Oswego Police Department said Wednesday that Lake Oswego CEO, CEO of the state Accident Insurance Fund Corporation (SAIF), was shot early on February 21.
The shot was fired at close range by someone who could carry brightly colored objects wearing hoodies or ski masks.

Grainy CCTV images released by police show someone near the house. The suspect is believed to have escaped to a nearby car and remains loose.
Terhune confirmed the incident in a company-wide email obtained by KPTV.
“We have received an email threat claiming we will be responsible for. We are not targeting any particular employee, but the email refers to the knowledge of the names and addresses of employees and relatives,” he writes.
Terhune asked employees of Comp Insurance Company, a nonprofit worker, to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings when they go out in public.

Terne said he was working with investigators.
“Law enforcement is working diligently to investigate this issue and asked us not to share any additional specific information about actual emails,” he said.
The filming comes months after United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot outside a Manhattan hotel. Questionable gunman Luigi Mangione, 26, criticized the American healthcare system before his murder.

Mangion faces multiple charges, including murder, and pleads not guilty.
Terhune became the president and CEO of SAIF in July 2021. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Medecision, a medical technology company, according to a biographies on the SAIF company's website.
