Surprise inspiration Stephen Curry gave to Jimmy Butler, Warriors

Stephen Curry's offense could lead to better defenses from the Warriors, at least according to Jimmy Butler.

The Warriors' massive trade deadline acquisition was shocked by Curry's play after scoring 56 points in a 121-115 victory over the Magic on Thursday night.

Curry fell six points to tie a single game high of 62 points, 16 out of 25 from the field, 19-12, 19-3 from the 3-point range.

Now, eight games in the Warriors career, Butler explained that a curry-like performance wanted to be great for everyone in Golden State.

“For everyone in this locker room, it's a huge energy boost. Butler told reporters. “So we can get the ball back and see him do incredible things on the offensive side.”

The Warriors currently have five straights and seven straights out of their last eight games.

Butler explained that he quickly learned that such an explosion from curry was not unusual for him.

“In a strange way, not expected now?” Butler said.

Curry had scored at least 20 points in 12 of his last 14 games.

He praised the “really cool vibe” inside Orlando's Kia Center, calling the Thursday night experience “fun.”

The Golden State Star said he and his team felt the energy move in the right direction in the second half after the start of the game.

“When I see the couple fall, the juice starts to flow, the rim grows and I'm enjoying continuing to film,” Curry told reporters.
