The Georgia home recently passed the Riley Gaines Act, which aimed to prohibit trans athletes from competing with biological girls and women.
The bill is named after Gaines, the host of Outkick's “Gaines for Girls” podcast, a champion who has been competing with trans swimmer Leah Thomas, who won the NCAA title three years ago, and has since been in charge of the Outkick's “Gaines for Girls” podcast, which has been a champion to keep biological men out of girls and women's sports.
Representatives voted 102-54 for House Bill 267 on Thursday.

All 54 NOs came from Democrats, three of whom voted to pass. Zero Republicans voted no, and of the 10 who didn't vote, nine were Democrats.
The measure moved to the Senate, which passed its own separate laws.
“Women athletes deserve fair competition, which means opportunities to maintain a different female division than the male category,” said Josh Bonner, a Republican Rep. from Fayetteville, who sponsored the bill.

The Georgia High School Athletics Association currently prohibits transgender students from participating in sports based on their gender identity. 25 other states have laws restricting trans-athletes from participating in sports.
Karla Drenner, Democrat of Avondale Estates, said the bill was “a calculation, risky, deeply discriminatory law that goes far beyond the realm of athletics.”
Drenner, who was the first openly LGBTQ+ member of Congress when he was elected in 2000, said:
Several states are said to continue allowing trans athletes to compete with biological women despite President Donald Trump's executive order. The Department of Education has launched a Title IX investigation into California, Minnesota and Maine to do so.
