Miles McBride provides huge lift off Knicks’ bench, plus one huge dunk

Memphis – The Knicks have the worst bench scorer in the NBA and the Grizzlies are the best.

However, in a victory at the FedEx Forum in New York on Friday night, 114-113, Tom Thibodeau's Reserve actually won the point battle.

The guard dropped 17 points in a 7-11 shooting from the field, including an epic jam above Memphis' Santialdama.

It was the highlight of the evening, and McBride knew that an attempt was taking place after defeating Luke Kennard from the dribble.

“If I beat him, I was going to dunk it,” McBride said.

McBride scored an average career high in points, rebounds, assists and minutes while enjoying his best health in February.

He had knee and hamstring issues early in the campaign.

“Obviously you have to be in court to show you what you have. So I feel like I'm holding those injuries a little under control. Just the difficult timing. And how I can find my rhythm on the court and contribute,” McBride said. “It's not always about scoring, it's about making plays, so as long as you can showcase your abilities, you have a great chance to do it.”

The towns of Josh Hart and Karl Anthony both began on Friday night – and, by chance, both fell into foul trouble – after being listed as suspicious with a knee injury.

The town missed the previous game with patellar tendon disorder, a repeat problem with the centre.

Hart also recently missed multiple games with pain in his right knee.

Heart's latest diagnosis is “knee exudation,” which is fluid accumulation in the knee joint.

Jalen Brunson chose his personal beef with Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins.

In response, Branson stared at Jenkins with some possessions, shocked the coach through the opening half.

The point guard refused to deal with what happened in the post-match interview.

Ariel Fuchport had surgery to “deal with” Meniscus' tears, and the Knicks announced on Friday that they officially made a timeline for their four- to six-week recovery.

The rookie, drafted 58th overall, was injured Wednesday in the first start of his career.

“It's a shame to see that,” Branson said. “Obviously, we're going to pray for a quick recovery. Make sure his spirit is right. His mentality is right. I've been saying this all year round and I'm really proud of him for what he can do in a short time. I can't wait to get him back as soon as possible.”
