Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) said President Trump “looks like an ally” to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
A comment from Christie Panel Discussion On ABC News' “This Week,” the group spoke about an oval office meeting with Trump, Ukrainian President Voldy Mirzelensky and Vice President.
“I think Chris, one of the strangest things to watch the meeting, is seeing how personal this was for President Trump. He's clearly upset [Zelensky]Host George Stephanopulos said. “It probably goes back to what started his first bullet each, and he clearly believes in his mind that Russia has interfered with us, despite what US intelligence officials say. [elections]that Vladimir Putin is a victim along with him. ”
“Well, he certainly… look, I don't think he cares about whether Putin is a victim or not, George, I think it's just rhetoric,” Christie replied. Again, transaction aristo, “What does that mean to me? What is it in for me?” And he is still mad at what happened at the time. ”
“What we need to understand is that the president should try to do now. Part of the problem here is that he looks and sounds like Putin's ally. And Secretary Rubio said, “Well, we've started taking Putin to the table.” “Well, you know, [can get] There's someone on the table in many different ways, but it's not just honey. ”
Zelensky, Trump and Vance held a tense oval office meeting on Friday, where they screamed, pointed, and the president and Ukrainian leaders were advocating for support for Ukraine.
After the meeting, Trump said on his true social platform that the Ukrainian president “is not ready for peace because he feels that our involvement is giving him a great advantage in negotiations when America is involved.”
The meeting was hit by some Republicans and Democrats, and Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) called it “a total embarrassment in America.”
“The US President is a cowardly puppet of Vladimir Putin,” Sen. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) told CNN after the meeting. “What we witnessed was an oval office meeting between two coronavirus dolls and the hero.”
