The Mets will not reclaim Jose Quintana after being hit with multiple hits in their rotation early in spring training.
The veteran Southpaw has signed a one-year contract with the Milwaukee brewer. Post John Heyman confirmed Monday.
Baseball business president David Stearns restructured the Mets' rotation this offseason by signing multi-year deals with Frankie Montas and Clay Holmes while re-signing Sean Manaea.
Montas was diagnosed with a high-grade LAT strain two weeks ago and was closed for 6-8 weeks. This means that they may not make their Mets debut until at least mid-May.
Last week, Manaea was diagnosed with oblique tension watching him by the sidelines throughout the first day, despite the possibility that the left-hander who signed a three-year, $75 million contract could return from mid-to-late April.

Quintana, 36, spent her last two seasons flushing.
He pitched 3.75 ERA in 170 innings in the start of the 31 regular season last season, earning 1.25 whips and 135 strikeouts.
He won a 3.57 ERA in 13 starts during the 2023 season.
Quintana started three playoff starts at Mets last season, allowing him to score zero in his first two appearances. The result was a victory for the Mets in the wildcard round of the NLDS and Game 4 in Game 3.
He was upset in Game 4 of the NLCS against the Dodgers, but allowed five runs on five hits and four walks in 3° innings during a 10-2 loss.
Quintana has a 3.74 ERA spanning 13 seasons with the White Sox, Cubs, Angels, Giants, Pirates, Cardinals and Mets.
Behind Kodai Senga, David Peterson and Holmes, Mets' other rotation options include Tylor Megill, Paul Blackburn, and Griffin Canning in the offseason.
