Fox Corp is planning to attract the early subscriber base of its upcoming streaming platform, “Mid Single Digit Million,” CEO Lachlan Murdoch said Monday at Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference.
The streaming service, which has not yet been named, is expected to start this fall during the kickoff of the NFL season, Murdoch said. The company was the CEO of the venture by tapping former Apple TV+ executive Pete Distad.
Future streamers will fit in a portfolio that includes other streaming platforms such as Fox News and Fox Sports, Fox Nation and Tubi.
“We think traditional cable bundles are the greatest value and service for consumers in this country, and that remains a critical and important part,” Murdoch said.
Fox Nation is an on-demand video subscription service that includes the series “Yosemite to Yosemite” by famous directors Martin Scorcese and Kevin Costner, with between 2 million and 2.5 million subscribers, Murdoch added.
Murdoch also touted his recent success on the Fox News Channel. This has added “over 100 new clients” to the advertising division since winning the election last November.

“The rating is like a 50%,” Murdoch said. “I think many advertisers have rethinked their positioning in this country because of the election results and understand that Fox News Viewer really represents Central America. And they're responding with their checkbooks.”
Fox News is owned by Fox Corp. Corporate sister of Parent Company News Corp. from Post.
