In an interview on Monday's broadcast of “Hannity” on Fox News Channel, Vice President JD Vance said the mineral trade would be a “long-term investment” in Ukraine's sovereignty, which is “very best security guarantee” and “best security guarantee” than the 20,000 army from a random country that was fighting for 30 or 40 years. “Security guarantees, and Ukraine's economic guarantees, are to rebuild the country and ensure that the US has long-term interest,” he said.

He said, “If the president really wants to ensure that Vladimir Putin will not invade Ukraine again, then it's about giving Americans an economic attitude to Ukraine's future if he wants to actually assure him that Vladimir Putin will not invade Ukraine again. It's a better security guarantee than a 20,000-man unit from some random countries that have not fought war in 30 or 40 years. Security guarantee, and Ukraine's economic guarantee, is about rebuilding the country and ensuring that America has long-term interest.”
