‘Around the Horn’ learns its final ESPN air date after two-decade run

ESPN's long-running discussion show “Around the Horn” I will sign off at the last time on May 23rdthe network announced on Tuesday.

The final episode airs just before Memorial Day weekend, with a 30-minute “SportsCenter” that will allow ESPN to understand a more permanent alternative. Front Office Sports reported.

Former post-media writer Ryan Glaspiegel reported in July that ESPN executives were pondering the future of the show, and in November he broke news that the show was in fact nearing an end.

In a statement, David Roberts, executive vice president of ESPN and executive vice president of sports news and entertainment, said: “That longevity in the media is extremely rare and we look forward to celebrating many of the show's achievements before our final sign-off in May.”

“Beyond Tony [Reali] And we are particularly grateful to the production team led by on-air contributor ensemble Eric Rydeholm and Aaron Solomon.

It has been on radio waves since November 4th, 2002, and has replaced the “unscripted” hosted by Chris Connery, and is currently creating more than 4,900 episodes.

For the first two years, Max Kellerman hosted the show in 2004 before Reali took over.

The “ATH” format, broadcast before “Allow a Disruption” between 5pm and 6pm, includes a spinning list of panelists around sports media who compete to get the best take on a particular sports topic.

A list of panelists who have been the mainstays of the show over the years included Bob Ryan, Woody Page, Tim Kaurish, Kevin Blackstone, Ja Adande and Bill Praschke.

Popular names such as Jemele Hill, Pablo Torre, Bomani Jones and Ramona Shelburne were also regulars at the show during their tenure.
