Fox News is R-La of House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Hayden Haynes was arrested just before midnight Tuesday evening and is allegedly on the wheels of a vehicle while he was drunk. The arrest came about an hour after President Donald Trump's joint speech to Congress.

The US Capitol (USCP), which failed to identify the suspect, confirmed the arrest of Fox News.

“I returned to the driver to a vehicle that I parked last night around 11:40pm,” a USCP spokesperson said. “We responded and arrested for the DUI.”

According to Legistorm Records, Haynes has been working in Johnson's office since 2017 and became Chief of Staff in October 2023. He was Johnson's campaign manager in 2016.

Haynes, a native of Louisiana, graduated from Louisana Technological University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree and graduated from Gonzaga University in 2014.

In a statement obtained by Fox News Digital, Johnson's Office said the speaker still has “full trust and confidence” in Haynes' “ability to lead the speaker's office.”

“The speaker knows the encounter involving his Chief of Staff and Capitol Police last night,” the statement read. “The speaker has worked closely with Hayden for nearly a decade and trusts him to serve as his chief of staff during his tenure in Congress.”

“Because of this and the respected reputation among Hayden members and staff, the speaker has full faith and confidence in his ability to lead Hayden speakers' offices.”

Before the arrest was made, Johnson appeared on “Hannity” to praise Trump's speech, saying Democrats “bring shame on themselves and their party” by disrupting the event.

“It was there by Republicans and gallery audiences, so I'm sure it was received at home too,” Johnson said. “What the Democrats did was really embarrassing. I mean, they really were a very spectacle. They brought shame to themselves and their party.”

“But Americans are following what the president is delivering, and they appreciate it.”
