Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird were looking at the best in New York City.
The couple took photos Tuesday at Central Park near Columbus Circle.
The American women's soccer icon and basketball legend each wore gray tops.
1985 was the year that the World Cup winner happened to be born.
The two first connected in 2017, shortly after meeting at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
A year after the date, they first became an openly gay couple, having magazine physical problems together for ESPN.
“I don't think either of us really want to do things and be like 'we're a gay couple',” Lapinoe told ESPN. “But it's pretty special that we actually have this unique means to do it, not only to celebrate who we are in our sport, but also to be the first gay couple. Think about how far we've come, especially in the time we're in. We're not just female athletes, we're dating. That's a bit bad.”
The two retired a year away from their respective sports, and in 2022 birds hung sneakers, Rapinoe called their career in 2023.
New York native, Sisett's Bird finished as a 13-time WNBA All-Star and five-time Olympic gold medalist.
Lapinoe retired after playing in four World Cups, where he scored nine goals, tallied nine assists and helped win two tournaments.
