Authorities Respond To ‘Active Shooter Situation’ At Naval Air Station In Pensacola

Authorities are responding to “active shooter situations” at Collie Station in Pensacola, Florida.

On Thursday, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) said it received a call at the Pensacola Naval Aviation Administration's Collie Station regarding armed disorders.

All units are currently investigating all buildings and stations.

“Our security teams respond quickly and skillfully to local law enforcement partners,” said Col. Chandra Newman, the base commander. “Our concern is always the safety and welfare of our service members and their families.”

The Naval Aviation Administration Pensacola is a base stationed with the Navy Blue Angels and is a skilled and blessed flight demonstration squadron of the US Navy.

According to the Department of Defense (DOD), the base has more than 16,000 troops and 7,400 civilians.
