‘Scalpel rather than the hatchet’

President Trump has revealed plans to block ministers and other high-level executives from government efficiency from pushing for personnel cuts.

Cabinet officials meet with Doge every two weeks until the administration closes its efforts to revamp the federal workforce, Trump announced he is celebrating the efforts of special government official Elon Musk as “an incredible success.”

“Now we have a cabinet in place, so I have instructed my secretaries and leadership to work with Doge on cost-cutting measures and staffing,” Trump said. It was announced in the True Society.

“As secretaries learn and understand people working in different departments, they can be very accurate about who remains and who goes.”

Throughout the first six weeks of his administration, Doge made eye-opening sporadic cuts to HR and programs.

In some cases, the administration is forced to reverse the course of these cuts. For example, last month, the National Nuclear Security Agency rushed to rehire abandoned regulators.

In late February, the White House cancelled the cuts by about 20% to staff at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (WTC) Health Program following protests from Staten Island GOP Rep. Nicole Mario Takis and other NYC area lawmakers.

“We say 'Mesulpel' rather than 'hatchet',” Trump emphasized in his post. “The combination of those, Elon, Doge and other great people would be able to do things on a historic level.”

Trump's announcement comes shortly after the closing meeting, where most ministers attended with Musk.

“It was very positive,” Trump said of the meeting. “It's very important to reduce the levels to where they should be, but it's also important to keep the best and most productive people.”

The president cried out some of Doge's cost-cutting achievements during his annual presidential speech to the Congress' joint meeting on Tuesday.

Doge is trying to reduce government bloating.

Democrats have slammed the Trump administration over Doge's crusades to cut down federal bureaucracy. And they touted the events at City Hall where Republican lawmakers overcome backlash from their members, union leaders and democratic allies.

Despite the blowback, Trump stood by Musk, thinking that critics were trying to pit two billionaires with each other.

Brass, the top of the administration, seemed to have sometimes been uncomfortable with Mask's attitude. Last month he instructed government workers to send emails from the Office of Human Resources (OPM) and to list five achievements from the previous week.

Many secretaries and agency heads first instructed workers to refrain from responding. Mask later claimed it was merely a “pulse check.”

Musk met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill Wednesday. After the meeting, several senators suggested that the technical baron was keen on a retirement package that would curb funding.

“Now is the time for the White House to put together its retirement package and allow Congress to turn Doge's work products into law and save money for Americans,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said after the meeting.

During these meetings, Musk admitted that Doge had made a mistake.

“He said you know, there's probably a mistake along the way. He's publicly said it before,” Rep. Russell Frye (R-SC) told CNN. “And once they're identified, they'll be corrected.”
