DC funeral home gave parents ashes that wasn’t their stillborn son: lawsuit

The sad couple is suing Washington, DC Funeral Home after being said to have not shown ruthless “Happy Birthday” balloons before the infant's re-service service prior to the infant's re-service service.

Britanni Davis and her, Beau Michelle Jackson, alleged in the lawsuit that Dan and her son's funeral home were left incorrect last summer, and subsequently attempted to conceal the nightmare mistakes as part of a series of “insensitive” acts.

And more than six months later, the lawsuit alleges that they are still trying to own the ashes of their son Mikari.

“This has been the most difficult time in our lives,” Davis and Jackson posted in a statement through their lawyers on Thursday.

“Mikari's death was already extremely painful for our family, and there was a lot of it that could bear to be treated badly during our tragedy.”

“Baby MJ” was expected to arrive in July, but the couple shattered when they learned that pregnancy was no longer viable. Davis gave birth to a stillbirth baby, according to legal documents filed last month in DC Superior Court.

Hoping to find a closure, the pair booked Dan and their son's funeral home to handle the arrangements that allegedly confused from the start.

Davis and Jackson asked for white and gold balloons to be displayed on July 24, 2024, in honor of their son on Service Day.

Instead, they were given a colorful balloon arrangement, including what they described as “Happy Birthday,” the lawsuit alleges.

“He's never going to have a birthday,” Davis said. FOX 5 DC this week. “I was upset. Why do you have a 'Happy Birthday' balloon? It's not a birthday. ”

The following month, funeral home staff handed over the ashes containers, but according to the lawsuit there was no proof of cremation to Davis.

The next day, Jackson and Davis returned to get their official records, but it is said that Parrah owner Toresa Dunn met.

When the two left angrily, Dan finally gives them a certificate, but the couple begins to wonder if they actually received the baby's body.

Jackson went to the crematorium later that day and learned further from workers that Mikari had been cremated that morning, the lawsuit alleges.

The crematorium staff then allegedly allegedly claimed that Dan asked him to change the date of the certificate, in the hopes of covering up her misconduct.

When Dan later faced about it, she admitted to delivering the wrong ashes.

Dan is said to have insisted that the confusion was “understandable.”

The funeral home did not reply to an email Thursday night for comment.
