The 41-year-old woman was found dead on the rooftop of a Bronx building near Yankee Stadium Thursday night, officers and sources said.
Jane Hunter was naked and unconsciously unresponsive at about 7:30pm at the top of the apartment on River Avenue near East 158th Avenue in the concourse.
Authorities and sources declared that the woman suffered from physical injuries that marked an obvious fall and died at the scene by EMS.
“She could have been there, or someone could have taken her there,” said the woman's mother, Margaret Hunter. He told News 12.
The grieving mother told the network where Jane was suffering from addiction and mental illness that the system had failed her.
She, along with her neighbors, lamented the inadequate security of the building.
“She was a talented poet and incredibly kind, but for the first time in decades, she may finally be in peace. Her name was Jane Hunter and she was loved,” a relative said in a statement provided to News12.

It remained unclear whether the crime was suspected on Friday.
The city's medical inspector's office makes an official decision.
