College basketball: No. 7 Alabama beats No. 1 Auburn on overtime buzzer-beater

The NCAA Tournament is just around the corner, but the insanity of March has already begun.

No. 7 Alabama lost top-ranked Auburn (93-91) on Saturday with overtime buzzer beaters in the regular season finale.

Mark Sears ran towards Paint and hit a floater when the clock ran out, giving the Crimson Tide a big victory. Sears had just nine points, but he scored two of the most important.

It was a sweet revenge for Bama, who lost to the Tigers (94-85) on his home court last month.

The contest was nail bitters overall, with no leads in the double digits. The biggest lead of the afternoon was the 8-point advantage that Crimson Tide held in about 10 minutes, but was quickly erased.

Johnny Bloom hit a 3 for Auburn and tied the game with 91 with 15 seconds remaining, but Sears made the most of his final gain of the ball. Bloom finished with a game high of 34 points.

After losing only two of their first 29 games, the Tigers lost their second straight win. They dropped the game on the road to Texas A&M earlier this week.
