JUPITER, Fla. – Brandonnimo's expected return to the Mets lineup has been pushed back for an additional day.
Coach Carlos Mendoza said the outfielder was expected to play Sunday for Grapefruitreug, but he will prevent him from running above 85% with a bare-headed rim on his right knee.
Nemo, which only appears on two plates this spring, will begin to rise after resting until at least Monday, according to Mendoza.
“We're still filming for the first day,” Mendoza said before the Mets beat the Marlins 7-3 in the exhibit game. “I feel like I have plenty of time here. He's got a lot of at-bats so I decided to get it right away.”
Nimmo had an MRI examination in his knee last week and showed no structural damage.
He refrained from refraining from intense activity on his left foot for most of the winter after receiving PRP injections for plantar fasciitis.
At what point Mendoza was asked to worry about Nemo's status to start the season.
“As we approach the first day, we have to start those conversations, whether he's 100% running, he's not at-bat or baseball activity,” Mendoza said.

Kodai Senga will pitch on Sunday in minor league matches.
Clay Holmes will start with Grapefruitreeg against the Nationals at Clover Park.
Holmes – on the same schedule as Senga for now – pitched in a minor league match with his final appearance while Senga began with Grapefruitreug.
