Where Nets’ lottery hopes stand after recent losing skid

Two weeks ago, Nets Tank Brigade was in a meltdown and feared he would miss a lottery and top draft pick opportunity.

now?

The net pushed their lost streak into seven games after losing to the Hornets 105-102 in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday.

Both current form and future schedule pave the way for the top five seeds in the May 12th lottery.

“The people we know and our online families understand that we are building this and we are hopefully building this for sustainable success,” Nets GM Sean Marks told the Post earlier this season.

“That's what we want. We want to bring it to it. We have to be systematic with some of the decisions we make, and they don't always line up with winning the next game or getting the most talent.”

To be clear, Marks was looking at the 30,000 feet of view. He's not talking about any particular games.

However, he enjoyed the game in-game, in this case it meant recording five first round picks (and swaps) for Mikal Bridges, retrieving his picks to commit to tanking.

Or some fans complained and half committed.

Two weeks ago, the Net won seven out of seven in lottery odds, sitting in seventh place, with sixth Philadelphia in the game and fifth Toronto in fourth place.

But even worse, the net was only half a game from the final play-in spot in the East.

Moving forward from the play-in would have seen them take them completely out of the lottery and draft them in the middle of the pack.

However, since then, they lost Saturday against the Hornets team without a lamello ball (which can be linked in the offseason) due to an ankle injury. And they did it without Cam Johnson, on the sidelines by pain in their left knee.

“They're doing exactly what they need to do,” the Western Conference Scout told the Post.

If you suddenly chase the Bulls in 3½ games, it seems unlikely that they'll have only 19 games of play-in.

More importantly, they tied the 76ers in lottery odds, with half-game behind the fifth-placed Raptors.

The lottery's top four finish looks out of reach of the net, but the half-games distinguishes between 7th and 5th.

If the net finishes with a seventh record, they are expected to be a 32% chance of drafting the top four, with 7.5% odds to land the coveted first overall pick, and the Cooper Flag is expected.

However, this schedule supports a hugely popularization of the net. This brings their odds to 42.1% and 10.5%, respectively.

The remaining schedules coming into the weekend were the 15th lowest, but Toronto and Philadelphia were much easier, according to Tancason.

Philadelphia was a huff game ahead of the net after Saturday and had the fifth eas-style slate with two dates and games against the worst league Washington and Toronto and Utah and New Orleans.

There's a 76ers victory.

And the raptors heading upward after trading with Brandon Ingram have the easiest remaining schedule in the entire NBA.

They have three games against the wizard, two for the Net, Pelican, and the 76ers, and two for the Jazz. The internet can easily surpass Toronto.

The scout and mock draft unanimously places the Rutgers duo of Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey behind the flag, then a combination of off guard VJ Edgecom and Tre Johnson, point guard Casparas Jaccionis and center Hamann Mallach.

After the seventh prospect, there is a prominent drop-off.

Once they finished fifth in the lottery, they had a 9.3% chance of picking outside the top 7.

However, when finished 7th, these odds are bothering at 46.8%.

It's easy to see why these last 19 games, including two against Toronto, are so important to the net.

And why May 12th is so important.
