Keegan Bradley sets scoring record, goes nuclear on Bay Hill’s Front 9

Keegan Bradley held an incredible show at the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Sunday.

Captain of this year's Ryder Cup Par 5 On the 6th, I drilled a hole in the Eagle. I added five more birdies to the front nine and headed out at 7 under 29. This is the first sub-30 score recorded at Bay Hill during the PGA Tour competition.

His par breaker on hole 9 may have been the most impressive. Bradley pulled the drive away from the tee and the ball settled behind a few trees and on the edge of the kart pass. After falling to the side of the road in peace, Bradley slammed a low, spinned wedge around the tree. As his ball was four feet short of the hole, he made his challenging shots look pretty benign. Bradley then tapped his 29th stroke on Birdie Three and Front Nine.

Bradley's 29 is the seventh sub-30 score recorded on the 2025 PGA Tour, but six of these 29s appeared on the par-35. Bay Hill's front nine plays with 36 pars, making it one of the most challenging layouts on the PGA Tour, making Bradley's 29 even more impressive.

The other 29 shots on par 36 this season returned to Sentry in January. Adam Scott was when he shot a 29 at the front nine of Kapalua in the third round.

Surprisingly, all seven sub-30 scores this season have been front nine. Jake Knapp fired a 29 at the front 9 on his way to record setting 59 during the opening round.

As for Bradley, he added another birdie on Sunday on the par 4 10th, reaching 8 under the day and 7 under the championship. He played 11 holes at the time of this writing. Perhaps he can post numbers to threaten leads. This is held by Colin Morakawa at 10 under.

If Bradley continues to play like this in the near future, he could become a play captain for this year's Ryder Cup team. He will be the first American to do so since Arnold Palmer led and led the US team in East Lake in 1963.
