St. John's fourth-place transfer class is just as important as it led to the program's best regular season in 25 years, and the development of Returns' Zuby Ejiofor and RJ Luis was paramount to Johnny's success this year.
The two close friends became the difference maker from role players last winter and were selected as the league's first team by Big East Coach on Sunday.
This is the first time two St. John players have joined their first team since 1986 when Mark Jackson and Walter Berry were selected.
To my surprise, Cuddary Richmond was not on the first team.
Seton Hall Transfer led St. John's Running, sixth since 1985, to its first Big East regular season crown.
In league play, the 6-foot-6 guard averaged 14.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.6 steel, and despite injuries to the gro caliber in each leg, he played very well last month.
Lewis was one of four unanimous first team selections, along with Eric Dixon of Villanova, Ryan Kalkbrenner of Creighton and Kam Jones of Marquette.
Georgetown's Mika Peebee also appeared on the first team.
The 6-foot-7 Lewis started 27 of his 30 games, averaging 18.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.4 steel on 44.6% shooting.

The only other Big East player in the top six of points and rebounds was Kalkbreener.
Lewis could be the first Johnny to become the league's player of the year since Berry in 1986.
The award will be announced on Wednesday.
“It would be a blessing to win the award. Lewis said after Saturday's victory at 20th place Marquette. “What I've done from last year until this year, it's just my transition.” [shin] Surgery, I think [it would be] A pretty amazing story. In addition, he won the regular season championship, [this kind] It's a season, to do it with this group of groups, it feels really good, to be coached by a coach [Rick Pitino]. ” .
Joining Richmond in the second team was Connecticut duo Solo Ball and Alex Caravan, Clayton guard Stephen Ashworth and Xavier forward Ryan Freemantle.
The third team consisted of Georgetown Center's Thomas Solver, Turmeric Forward Liam McNeely, Malquette Forward David Joplin, Villanova Guard Uga Poplar, Xavier Guard Ryan Conwell and Butler Guard Jamil Tel Fort.
Sorber, McNeeley, Jackson McAndrew of Creighton, Ryan Mela of Providence, Oswin Erhunmwunse and Marquette's Royce Parham of the All-New Reborn Team.
