‘Democratic Party Brand Has Just Been Crushed’

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has confirmed Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

“It's okay to lose, the California governor told Kirk on Thursday's episode. This is Gavin Newsom Podcast.

listen:

Newsom specifically mentioned that he didn't want to agree with Kirk that men should not compete in women's sports.

“I'm deeply conscious of this politics, which is very useless personally and more broadly and professionally for the Demom and our brand,” Newsmom added. “The Democratic brand has just been crushed.”

Kirk said, “Your self-awareness helps you know because it's deeply unpopular, and I think it's a dominant political force that hasn't disappeared.”

Early in their conversation, Kirk urged Newsom to “step up” and to say “no” to male athletes participating in women's sports, with the California governor replied with “completely agreeing” with the founder of TPUSA “on the issue of fairness.”

“That's very unfair,” Newsom added that despite this, he is unable to take the stance that biological men should not participate in women's sports.

The governor explained his position.

I totally agree with the issue of fairness. It can be easily called out – it's unfair. There is also the humility and blessing that these poor people are more likely to commit suicide, cause anxiety and depression. And how people talk to vulnerable communities is a problem I struggle with. So both things I can hold with my hands. How can I deal with this issue with such decency that I think is unique to you? But do you deal with inequality at the same time?

“You asked a well-intentioned question: how do Democrats get out of the wilderness,” Kirk admitted. The left-handed stance on the topic is still very unpopular and reminds Newsom that he says, “This is issue 80/20.”

Newsom admitted, replied, “I agree with you, and we're crushed by it.”

“Even in my own cohort of friends, people have said, “What the heck is going on? Why not call this? The governor has repeatedly said that he cannot bring himself to change his attitude towards the issue.

Kirk told Newsom, “You're giving us the 80/20 problem that's pervasive in our country, and that's such a humiliation for our senses,” and the governor replied, “I don't agree.”

The founders of TPUSA continued to explain to Newsom the difference between liberals and conservatives “you tend to see the incident through the lens of “oppressed” and “as conservatives, or through right, wrong, or injustice.”

“And this country is moving in our direction and farther from your direction,” Kirk said. “The problem of “oppression or suppression” eventually runs out of oppressors and starts to create them from thin air. ”
