Another big hit trade has emerged from the Pacific Northwest Seattle Seahawks I sent wr dk metcalf to Pittsburgh Steelers For the second round pick of 2025, With multiple insiders.
How do you assess this seismic trade on both sides?
Pittsburgh Steelers: B+
This offseason, I thought the Steelers needed to try and “prevent QB” their offense. With the QB market being dry and the options for the NFL Draft are bare, this offseason had to gain a lot of talent in other positions, allowing street free agent QBs to run offensive at baseline level.
Adding Metcalf makes all too sense as the team is still trying to choose between QB Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. He is a receiver specialist, but one of his good things (verticality and explosive plays) is what the Steelers offense does well with what he's done last year, and he's one of the best in the game with his skill. But paying him $33 million a year is abrupt for a man in his caliber. That's because it's a continuous price for receivers these days, but I think that's fine.
DK and George Pickens may be a lot of fun to watch if there is a proper QB.
Seattle Seahawks: a
See, I'm not scoring the Seahawks in their overall process – if I give them an f-. But I think they got a lot for Metcalf. Getting the 52nd pick in this draft is a great distance for Metcalf. I haven't gotten their entire process yet. Are they trying to be competitive next year or will they go to a full tank? I'm leaning towards the former, not the latter. I still don't know what to call it.
Good luck, Jackson Smith Nigba. You are now the Seahawks' only receiver and can separate at any point in the field. Jake Bobo, your time is now.
